Understand Your Corsair Connect Appointment Date
Registration priority is assigned based on units completed at SMC. New international students receive specific appointment windows. Log in immediately when your window opens, as high-demand General Education courses fill up within minutes.
Maintain F-1 Visa Compliance (12 Units Minimum)
F-1 visa regulations strictly mandate full-time status (minimum 12 units during Fall and Spring semesters). At least 9 of those units must be physical, in-person courses. Dropping below 12 units without prior authorization from the International Education Center (IEC) will jeopardize your legal status.
How to Work Waitlists and Add Codes
If a required class is full, join the Corsair Connect waitlist immediately. On the first day of class, attend the lecture (or email the professor for online courses) to request an Add Code. Professors often grant extra spots during the first week.
